I just wanted to thank you guys for your advice. Between waiting for the replacement head gaskets etc. and ordering an O.E.M. water pump, I finally got the pump today. Installed it and no more overheating. This has been causing me grief for over a month, a few days ago I fit the original housing on the pick up tube then transferred the rubber seal to the aftermarket housing and slid it on the pick up tube. There was quite a bit more slop with the aftermarket one so I'm guessing that this was the problem all along. Guess I learned the hard way, I bought aftermarket because I could them quickly but that will be the last time that I do that.
    Thanks again guys.
Btw, I do have a question about the timing pick up setting. Could I ask it here or should I start a new post?

      Well, that's great news!

Post the other question here, it's your thread anyways..

Ya thanks, the boat may see the water this weekend for the 1st time this year! Maybe I'm just slow but I don't understand what they mean in the manual about this adjustment. I can't see where the adjustment is made.
