  • Removing lower unit Carrier Bearing Nut Without Special Tool

Anyway to remove the carrier bearing nut on a 2005 f90 lower unit without the special tool? Same question for re-installing the carrier bearing nut and properly torqueing it? Hoping there is a work around since the tool is around $100 and would probably only use it once. Thanks

I would just drill it in a couple of places and then break it out.
buy a new one to go back with.

you could always put it all back together and snug it the best you can and then ask a shop near you to do the final torque
