  • 2004 VZ225TLRC idling issues?

Hard to describe what it’s doing so I took a video of it. If you can’t tell, the motor switches into a limp mode like setting and will not let me accelerate at all. When I try to accelerate it loses rpm and will sometimes stall. When it switches into this mode I can take it out of gear and it is fine, if I put it in gear and accelerate quickly it will get on plane and run perfectly.

Here’s a link to the video (wouldn’t let me upload here)

the HPDI motors drop 2 cylinders when in neutral.
if the ECU thinks the motor is still in neutral and you open the throttle it will cut more cylinders to keep RPM down.
I would be checking to see if that is the problem

      How would I check this?

There is a switch that tells the ECU that the motor is in neutral or in gear.
I have no idea where it is located,
but I do know it is not the neutral safety switch in the controls,
as that is just to keep from starting the motor in gear

Any other ideas on this before I go run a big bill at the mechanic?
