  • pulling out tilt/trim unit

Hi, I have a 90 hp 1989 model Yamaha can someone tell me how to take of the clamping bracket off to pull out the trim unit

Why do you think that a bracket needs to be removed to pull the power trim and tilt assembly?

Remove the power feed wire from the relay, remove any bonding wire attached to the assembly, remove the tilt piston attach pin and remove the attach bolts. The assembly should simply slide out.

I have winched the out board off the boat and couldn't get the unit out.

If you have the engine off the boat, then the transom bracket will be easy to remove. Not too sure why you can't get the trim unit out though.

If all else fails, use explosives

Oh and wear safety glasses if you do this
