  • Yamaha F150BET tilt trim brushes?

F150BET tilt trim stopped working. Relay is clicking, fuses good. Give tilt/trim motor a couple of light taps tilt/trim motor works (very slowly) - assuming brushes are worn.

This tilt/trim is the newer (?) model with the metal reservoir - from the parts diagram

2006 and Later F150XA Yamaha Outboard POWER TRIM TILT ASSY 2 Diagram and Parts

I can only find one brush listed is the second brush part # 63P-82181-10-00

    Thanks for advice.

Part #4 shows it to be the ONLY brush. Enlarge the picture, it kinda points to the wire attached to the brush.

If you look down below in the parts fisch line up, it'll show if it takes one or two (etc). The brush shows only ONE brush for that unit.

That part you have listed above is NOT a brush...

Before you pull it apart, if you disconnect the wire harness from the T&T, then hook it directly to a 12 volt source, you can confirm its the unit.

Reversing the wires (+ and -) reverses the direction of the unit.

You may want to verify your getting a full 12 volts thru the harness to the T&T first too..

Like most Yam data the parts catalog appears to be screwed up. Two brush springs are shown but only one brush is depicted.

What does your service manual show?

Perhaps the number 2 after the word brush indicates that perhaps the brushes come two to a pack. One part number gets two parts???
