  • ENGINE CONTROL UNIT ASSY interchangeable??

I was checking the part number for a new ENGINE CONTROL UNIT ASSY and It shows that my part number is either:

    1. 60L-8591A-00-00
    2. 69J-8591A-00-00

My motor is a 2002 LF200TXRA Yamaha Outboard.

I have noticed that here are two groupings of (0) in the part number.

    Could I swap out a:

60L-8591A-33-00 Or any of the second grouping of numbers?? like a 01-00 or 10-00???

Not sure if that makes any sense. Sorry for the wording.

    60L is for an F200.

    69J is for an F225.

Your specific model was delivered with a 60L-8591A-00-00 ECU. That part number was superceded by a -01-00. The -01-00 or -00-00 are the correct dash numbers for your motor.

Any other 60L ECU's would not be applicable to your motor because of design changes made to it along the way. For instance, a charcoal canister modification was added along the way at which time a different ECU was used. Then, in late 2005 Yamaha's version of NMEA 2000 was added at which time still another ECU was used.

FYI - Check the primary ID for your motor. You will find that it beings with 60L.

60L-8591A-00-00 is the number on my Ecu. So 60L-8591A-01-00 is correct. Thx
