  • F300 with low oil pressure after cruising

After cruising several minutes at oil pressures in the 65-75 psi range (as displayed on my chartplotter via NEMA connection), when I come down to idle at 600 rpm it drops to 20-25# and stays there until rpm brought up to 700 or more then stays in the 30's. On the command link gauge it is on the very low end of the bar graph, but no alarms sound. Sometimes getting up on plane or accelerating I'll see 85#.
Oil levels near top hole on dip stick with fresh synthetic 5w-30 Yamalube in it.

Is it normal to have pressures range 60#??? Seems extreme to me...

The oil pressure values that you are seeing are normal.

For whatever it is worth, the service manual provides voltage values that are to be seen at two oil pressure points. One point is 56.8 psi and the other is 113.7 psi.

As long as the warning horn is not sounding then you don't have a problem.
