Not too sure what you mean by valves tightening, or how that will damage a crankshaft

I am not seeing any connection between valves being adjusted with too little clearance and a crank shaft failure.

let us know where it failed,
maybe close to a failed bearing?

Just curious, but where did it fail/break?....in the center, or at one end?.....maybe just a bad casting/forging???.....Guess it's too late for any help from Yamaha?...but maybe worth a phone call....

              Posted same thing at TOS.....

I’m guessing he meant the check valves got a little tight on the emasculator.

Appears like we will never know what went on.
