  • 9.9 kicker, when tilted up leaks oil....

I have a 9.9 kicker and it seems to work good, no problems with it running and performing as it should. But when I tilt it up and run back to the dock, its dripping oil pretty good, it seems to be getting worse. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong and directions on fixing it?
    thanks...

you need to look to see where the oil is coming from.
could be from the oil tank top, oil lines,or from the oil pump.
just a guess it would be from the oil tank top cap.
if so a new one may be needed

model T9.9 GPXH Its a 4 stroke 2009 so no oil tank, there is nothing obvious that I can see, it doesn't leak upright, and the shroud hides where it seems to be leaking.

always post a model # when asking questions.
          a T or F is a lot different and just a plain 9.9.

have you thought about taking things off so you can see ?

is the oil level correct or maybe over filled

What shroud are you referring too? The cover over the flywheel?

There's no shrouds showing on the parts list ( https://www.boats.net/catalog/yamaha.../t9-9gpxh-0409 ) but that's not unusual..
Your going to have to dig a bit and shine a flashlight into there or as mentioned, start pulling some covers..

The parts diagram may help to identify what's leaking..
