Internal anodes F150xb

I have a 2017 F150XB with 162 hrs. I took off one internal anodes to take a look at. What is this hard build up on it . I always rinse my motor after every use with CRC salt terminator .

That anode is fine. Clean it if you wish.
The grommet/seal needs to be perfect or it will leak. Your grommet looks pretty good in the pic.

Scrub it with a stainless steel brush to remove the oxide coating. They are sacrificial, always good to see them "eaten" which means they are doing their job. Ofcourse that means they have a limited life and need changing at some point.

I went head and took the grommet and clean the anodes with a wire wheel and reinstalled. I will replaced them at 300 hrs .
