Hi,
I am hoping somebody can help me out this motor. The reason I am having trouble identifying it is because the model\serial sticker is extremely faded. Here is what I can make out S225TU. Now I know its a 30 inch shaft and a SWS motor, the last 2 characters are completely faded away. Now for the parts that are throwing me off.
1. the cowling says SWS II, but it also says VX-225 76 degree.
2. Its carbed.
The guy selling it told me its a 1997, but looking at the schematics, the only carbed 225 in 1997 was a 20 inch shaft. Everything else appeared to be fuel injection for the 1997 models. Looking at the model numbers in 1996, that were 225 models starting with an S, but none before that.
I just have a couple questions:
1. did yamaha make a saltwater series II v-x model 225
2. did yamaha stop using carbs in the SWS after 1996?
