  • 1995 P50 TRLT Runs Rough Cuts Out

    Have newly rebuilt powerhead. Less than 20 HRS. First time out ran really rough. Seemed like air in line, loss of siphon. Got new primer bulb same issue. After limping along at 1/4 throttle for about 40 mins or so starts running fine for rest of the day . Full throttle no problem. Next morning same issue. Reduced fuel line to only two feet from engine. Temporarily eliminated water separator(new as well). Bulb gets firm no problem. Engine fires right up every time. Not hard to start at all. Sprayed wd-40 around intake gasket, no increase in rpms. Engine runs great after getting rid of the hiccups. Talked to shop who did rebuild says carbs dirty. Low speed jets clogged etc etc. Says I need to use fuel stabilizer(which I always do). Any Ideas

    Thanks

      Rodbolt is about the highest "senior tech" here..(he does it for a living).

      However a fuel stabilizer won't clean your carb, it'll stabilize your fuel.

      Yamaha's "Ringfree" is what I use to keep carbs, FI systems, top end clean;

      but I'm not a senior tech..
