  • Thermostat differences

Anyone know the differences between thermostats:
    6e5-12411-02-00
    6e5-12411-01-00
    6e5-12411-10-00
    6e5-12411-20-00

They look same to me but Yamaha still sells all these numbers. Left over stock that was superceded? Are they in fact interchangeable?

The -01-00 supercedes to the -02-00. The -01-00 superceded from the -00-00. Only the -02-00 is available from Yamaha USA today.

The -10-00 superceded to the -20-00 which superceded to the -30-00. Only the -30-00 is available from Yamaha USA today.

You can see the application for all six part number thermostats in the boats.net part number look up window. What the technical differences are I cannot say. If you looked at the service manual for the varying models that used each of the different part number thermostats you may see that they have a different opening temperature.

      OK thanks.....
So are you saying -01 or -02 could be interchanged?
      And -10 and -20 interchanged?
-02 and -20 just improved versions?
Reason I ask is that I come across NOS parts and wonder if I can use the earlier parts.....

Yes, -00-00, -01-00 and 02-00 can be interchanged.

Same with the -10-00, -20-00 and the -30-00.

Preferred being the latter of course.
