  • Fuel Tank connection

I notice my quick connect tank and engine fittings have different part # and arrows on the retainer toggle. Is there direction of flow requirements for the connectors?

The directionality is dictated by the primer ball. It has check valves inside that will allow fuel flow in one direction only. So, the engine fitting and the tank fittings are designed so the hose can only be connected in the correct way.

Thanks, looking at the retainer toggle I see a stamping in the metal that is in the figure of a tank and has an arrow away from the tank.(points towards the fuel line) OEM part #7710. The other fitting has an arrow that points away from the fuel line (towards the out flow of the fitting) OEM #7711. I always thought the connectors were the same . Maybe these are older parts. My engine is a 1995 P50TLRT
