Impeller housing on 1996 225

Hey y'all I got a question that I hope somebody can help me with. I am working on a 1996 S225TXRU. We are changing the Impeller. The old housing had a cut out for the spacer and collar, the new hosing does not, is the spacer and collar needed? The parts manager at the Yamaha dealership said to put it on top of the housing. I am starting to think they gave me the wrong housing. Any help would be much appreciated.

buy the correct housing.
find a real dealership.
you only dont need the lock collar if you don't mind the knocking noise at low speeds.

I remember a guy I worked with once couldn't get the gearbox up, He put the collar spacer and washers sitting on top of the housing!!!
