  • Drive sprocket

    2006 F90 unable to remove nut holding drive sprocket on crank. Have used large wrenches air tools will not turn it..

    Help need ideas

    My F150's nut is set at almost 200 ft lbs. Don't know the spec's to yours but its likely way up there.

    There is a special tool to hold the flywheel from turning, it grabs the teeth / gear. Its in the shop manual under special tools for the power head.

    That tool and a long breaker bar should remove it if you don't have an air gun with that high a capacity..

      I think the F150 flywheel nut is being confused with the F90 drive sprocket nut.

        You need a longer breaker bar. And be careful when the nut breaks loose. Don't ask me how I know to be careful. Now that I do.
