Are you referring to the drive shaft bushing perhaps.? As you look up into the midsection?

All that is required is a good waterproof marine grease. Some use a special Yamaha grease. I use the common stuff once a year. Put a good amount inside the bushing, and splines at top of drive shaft. A little on the shift shaft splines too. Doesn’t hurt to put a little on the threads of bolts that hold lower to midsection also. Helps to get them
loose next time.
