  • 2000 F80 F100 intake silencer removal

I am about to change my rectifier/regulator on my 2000 F80, but i am a bit worried about the removal process of the intake silencer, as I will do this on the docks.

Do the O rings fall out or do they stick firmly during the process? Any experience?

Shows separate O-rings per the parts fisch:

I would just go real slow, as you remove each bolt, slowly pull out the silencer and grab them.

Of course, doing this in the water, their going to want to land in the water. I would try and put out a good sized towel underneath to catch ANYTHING that may drop. Perhaps bungee it taught..

A dab of grease should hold the o-rings when re-assembling..

The parts fisch picture will give you a good idea what to expect..

I don't remember the O'rings being and issue when I pulled mine for the R/R or when I rebuilt my Carbs.

I eventually managed to change the R/R without the need to loosen the air intake.

It can be done fairly easily with some improvising tool usage. This requires that the toolset is small and that you have a small L-shaped 10 mm wrench.
