  • trailering an outbord motor

My dad always put a transom saver under the lower unit(of our 2005 F25) for support when trailering, but the manual says "The outboard motor should be trailered and stored in the normal running position". Should I do like the manual says and ditch the saver?

Thanks, that's the way I was leaning, it just looked like a better deal!

i think it depends on the height of your trailer... with my motors level on trailer i have a foot of clearance

I would rather see it trailered per the manual, but ONLY if ground clearance will allow it.
some trailers wont allow transport with the motor in the running position.
