  • cowling seal

    I need to replace torn cowling seal. it is badly damaged at front, probably by careless handling. It's my first outboard. What is a proper way remove/install cowling to avoid damage cowling seal? Thank you.

        Just lift the cowl straight up.

        Also, once you break the seal coming off, its very easy to knock off any "rubber stoppers" on the lower edges of the cowl itself if you bump the engine (very, very easy to do)

        Until it's fully off, pay close attention and pull straight upwards all the way until fully clear.
