Yamaha 15HP Power Trim Motor?

Hi Guys i am new to the forum and came here to try and find any solution to fixing my power trim on my 2005 Yamaha 15HP motor. I have tested the relay and it seems to be okay....Press the switch up and get voltage, down and get voltage. How do i test if the motor is bad? I read here about a 12v battery but not sure how to hook this up and what to expect. Please help.

Take a pic of the relay with the wires on it or make notes.
Disconnect the wires the go to the T&T motor
jump these leads to the 12 volt source.
reverse the + & - to reverse the direction

sounds like the motor is bad
