    What are you calling the "armature"? The timing plate linkage? If you had fuel lines preventing the timing plate from moving in sync with the throttle then it diffenately will not Rev.
    Could you post a picture of the area where the fuel lines where fouling the linkages? That would help.

      You DID have crap in at least one carb initially. That was resolved..

      Apparently (it seems), that fuel line moved sometime (probably when the carbs were removed) and was jamming up the linkages, IE, NO WOT, no ignition advance, etc

      Checking the timing (as noted above) should help (if off) and a sync(if not done) with the idle. Also, if there's idle / air adjustment screws, fine tuning them should help with the idle..

          Ok all new Yamaha fuel lines came in today. I’m going to the plumb them in from the fuel pump to the carbs and see how she runs. Hopefully this does the trick.
          Update to follow once I get back from OBX.
