  • 2006 300 hpdi no fuel pressure

No fuel pressure at the Shrader valve. What and where do I check. It was cranking and idling fine but would start spluttering above 2000 rpms. I ran it for a little bit too see if it would straighten out but it didn't so I went to load it back up ,when I got to the dock it died and hasn't cranked since . I put new plugs its firing, injectors are firing that's when I checked the fuel pressure and now I'm LOST!!! Any help on what I can do would be greatly appreciated.

look at the simple stuff first.
1 is there actually fuel in the VST ?
does the medium pressure pump run 3-5 seconds at key on ?

its not a very complex fuel system.

If the VST is the aluminum tank with the drain plug at the bottom , yes it does have fuel. Don't know about the fuel pump running. Its on a Z-22 Ranger bass boat and its push button keypad dont know when it comes on but I will check it and post as quick as I can.

now we have to check the medium pressure pump.
with the ign on, disconnect the blue pump wire.
jump the blue wire to ground. pump should run.
if not check the fuses and the main relay.

So there's another pump besides the one I took out this morning?

Buy, own and maintain an airplane for a while.

You will come to believe that marine parts are being given away.
