  • Yamaha 2003(F40BWHT) Anode Replacement...

    Hi everyone,

Was working on my engine today, was changing the head anodes and while doing that one of the anodes has snapped and fallen back into the engine block. I have no clue what to do now and hope that you can help me. Is a Yamaha 4 stroke F40BWHT 2003 model.

Any help will be so appreciated. Thank you all in advanced.

    Regards
    Bashir

On most models thats not a problem... I guess is on the 50 2 stk that may be a problem because can clog the water passage.

    Lets hear the experts...

your going to have to retrieve it.
it will work around and clog something and create hot spots.

its why I leave them alone OR change them often.

if a customer waits 5 years I wont deal with them unless the customer has been warned about it.

          Thanks rodbolt17,

Is it a big job? Do you recommend a experienced mechanic for this job or will I be able to do it myself? Thanks again so much for the help and the quick response.

            a big job?
            to me no.
its a simple cyl head removal.

then how much corrosion is there?
then is there enough materiel to reassemble after cleaning?

not the first time a project spirals out of control.

I'm just hesitant to do it myself! Don't have the knowledge or experience. Can anything major go wrong... do you recommend a experienced mechanic or myself to do it. So sorry for all the questions...
