  • Ammeter

    Hi,

I want to connect a VDO -30A to +30A ammeter to my F40, can anyone help me?

    Thanks

    I simply gotta ask, WHY?

you will have to cut into the harness at the regulator, run a 10ga wire to the dash then another back to the regulator.
a voltmeter can simply be tapped into the ign switch with 16ga wiring about a ft or so long.

I want to install it to measure if the battery is charging or discharging. I know that a voltmeter shows that, and I've already have one, but I've just bought this engine and the hourmeter that I had in my dash is no longer needed (the new tach already has one). Doing so, i want to fill the hole with a ammeter.

buy the 2" plug from Teleflex.
        plug the hole.
use the money to buy bait or a cool refreshing beverage.

trust me there is a reason NO manufacturer uses amp meters anymore.

all you need is the volt meter.
much above 12.5V and the battery is charging and the system is working.

most of the F40 stuff puts out less than 15 amps anyway.
