  • 85 HP Sucked salt water! Help Please!

Hello to all, I just acquired a 1993 85 HP Yamaha and as we took it out for a spin it started bogging down and would not stay running. So once I got it out of the water I pulled the plugs and it was milky inside. I removed the side plate, broke one stud and removed the cover. Once i removed the inside exhaust plate I found a small hole on top so I ordered the parts and gaskets. I then sprayed lubricant through the crabs and pistons.

?What else would you all recommended me to do? The parts are going to take a few days to get here and I don't want rust to form on the pistons or crank. I'm going to buy a can of fogging oil this morning and spray it again.
?Should I do this everyday until I run it again and how should I run it once I get it going again?

    Thanks,
    Al

what you want is oil in the crankcase, flood it.
    especially the lower ball bearing.
worry about blowing the excess oil out later,
1/2 gallon or so of TCW3 and some cranking with the plugs out should help.
DO NOT flood the intake with oil and crank with the plugs in place.
    remove the airbox.
tilt the motor all the way down.
    open throttles completely.
    disable the ign .
squirt 2-3 Oz of oil into each reed box.
    crank engine.
    repeat multiple times.
    it will make a mess.
