  • Command link Plus 6Y9 USB ?

I have installed the Command link Plus 6Y9 display with a new 4.2 F300
The display has a USB plug in the back of it.
The manual is very brief, upload a start up image and import export data?
Do I require YDS software? What Can I upload / download with the usb?
    Thanks

As I remember you can download/upload your settings, sort of like backing them up. No software needed.

Here is the start up pic I loaded on mine.

          Thanks for the info
I have had a play with photo shop and come up with this design. I will upload it tomorrow.
Can the original start-up screen be recovered if need be or factory reset if required?

It has been a while, but as I recall, the factory start up is default if you delete the one you have installed.

Newbie stirring up an old topic.

I am having a hell of a time getting an image that will load onto a CL 6y9 gauge. I found all the info in this thread and thought I had "complied"

I have an 800*300 24bit non progressive .jpg and when I try to upload I keep getting invalid data. I even "stole" the image on here of the 300's with the yamaha logo just for testing and no go.

I know I am grasping here but any ideas on what I could have missed?

It has been even longer now, but I will try.

What is the exact name of your file?

What software version of Command Link Plus display do you have?

What other files do you have on the USB drive?

What version of USB are you using?

Send me a PM with your email and I will send you a jpg to try.

                  I really appreciate your time.

                  File names tried:
                  bg.jpg
                  bg000001.jpg
Also tried them in .png format with the same name (ie bg.png)

                  The gauge is a:
                  6y9-2819U-E0

Software version of Gauge (this is the bottom right corner of the startup screen):
                  6y90f20p11186394
I could not find an info screen that specifically said it was the software version.

Nothing else on USB drive. I have tried it with multiple files and single files. all were treid and all failed.

                  PM sent...
                  Thanks,

I thought it would say Ver.1 or 2 or ? I will check mine shortly.

I don't see any problem so far. I edited my reply with the question "what version USB are you using?" A quick search indicates version 3 is backward compatible to 1 & 2, so that should not matter.

Only thing left is the display version.

I have actually tried several USB sticks one of which was 3.0 compatible and the other was 2.0 compatible. Both usb sticks are recognized and display the file name of the pictures on the stick. I can scroll to them and choose them, It starts reading the file and after about 2-3 seconds that is when I get invalid data.

I fired the unit up again and could not find any indication other than the previous number I posted from the initial splash screen. Normally electronics like this would have an "About" or "System" in the menu and I could not find anything like that.

I have a different version number. When I get back home I will post it.

                        My version is 6Y90F20P004740.

You have a different version than the two listed in my manual.

                              And the final product.

If you get these same screens, then the only thing I see different is the version number.

I have emailed the file below.
