  • V225 Tilt and Trim Help needed please

    Hello all.

I need some advise on an issue I am having. In my bass boat I can take off and get on plane, but as I am trimming up to top speed sometimes I can get there. What is happening is I get almost there (probably about 1/8-1/4" more and I would be there) and the trim won't get there unless I come off throttle and trim it then get back into the throttle. Last year I also noticed I would be running full across the lake, and it would seem to drop about 5-8 mph. I found that the motor was dropping down a little. I filled the reservoir, but it still seems to do it. I am not leaking anything anywhere, the fluid is full. I am not exactly sure where to start on the tilt trim unit. It did start making a little bit of noise (not the normal) when working the unit up at about the 1/2 way point.
Any advise I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    James

here again, a model number is needed.
there have been a few different trim units on 225 motors over the years.
lost my magic wand and the crystal ball has bad dilitium crystals.

Sorry. I can't find a model on the unit.

The boat is a 2002 ZX225. The complete tilt/trim unit number I can find is: 68F-43800-00-4D from the schematics. VX225TLRA is the motor model.

      Thank you,
