  • 2005 F250 Stalling

My 05 F250 motor stalls out when I trim the motor while in gear. At low rpm's or at 4000 rpm's. I have to wait a few sec to restart motor. How can a trim button kill the engine? I have 2 good Optima blue top battery's. Any ideas?

Need be said, inspect 12v wiring termination, ensure good clean ground termination. Inspect the 12 volt wires. Seawater can get into the insulation and corrode the copper conductor within the wire. Especially check the ends near the battery. Look for cuts in the insulation as far as you can. If you find any spots that are hard, swollen, or inflexible, that may be your problem.

Check the voltage at the engine termination while you apply trim. See if that drops off considerably while having the trim motor engaged. If so, your two optima's probably aren't getting to where you need them. Check resistance of the battery wires.

Search this forum for this problem, I've seen it discussed here in the past.

    Bon Chance!
If its got teats or tires, you bound to have trouble with it....
