  • help, panic!

Hi there. i live in a remote place and rely absolutely on my boat and motor. Also , at home, we have very little signal, so i may seem inattebtive getting back, if anyone can help. (I'm in a bigger island now , where there is a connection.)

    THE MOTOR..
    Yamaha 60 4-stroke, high thrust.
    3˝years old
1100 hrs, (so about 6 per week in three trips).
    ALL maintenance at correct intervals.
    Prop good.
    oils good, filter new
    fuel filters good.
    plugs all new.
    foot sound.
tried replacing the gas, from a different source.

    THE PROBLEM..
intermittent irregular juddering at 1200 rpm up.
ONLY when in either gear, in neutral revs normally.
Only revving to 3800 ish rpm when fault present .
When fault not present revving to 5000..normal. (still a little irregular at low revs, say between 1000 and 250rpm)

The signifcant things seems to me.
    ONLY manifest in gear..
    Only sometimes.
Thanks. (sorry if i seem abrupt.. under a lot of pressure!)

Don't know your model # but I would drain the VST and catch what comes out, specifically water.

Part #13 is the drain screw in this model: http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Ya...201/parts.html
