• Correct way to measure lower unit?

Besides the serial and model # of the motor,
what is the correct way to measure the unit.
I want to know if mine is 25 inches or 20.
Bottom of skeg to the midway bolts that hold the lower unit bottom half is 19 inches on my c115.

Rob,
I have a C115TLRY - the "L" designates a 20 inch transom height, an "X" would designate a 25 inch height. I measured 20 inches from the cavitation plate to one inch above the water relief holes on back of upper casing. Also, with the motor leveled at right angle to keel, 20 inches from cavitation plate to top of inside mounting bracket.
Good luck ,

Measure from top of transom to cavitation plate on lower unit, should be a little over 20 inches for a C115TL_ motor and 25 inches for a C115TX_ motor.
