  • Changing an oil filter on F225

There must be a better way to change an oil filter on the F225 without spilling oil all over the bottom of the engine. Anyone have any suggestions?

Some guys make a oil ramp out of card board or sheet metal to guide the oil out away from the motor into something like a drainpan or bucket.

Take the cover off the oil filter and loosen it slightly. Put a gallon ziplock bag over the filter and then tilt the engine up fully. Now you can completely loosen and remove the filter catching everything in the bag. Good luck.

A good idea from Mudrunner that will solve 2 problems, the mess in engine pan and handling a messy oil filter.
