HELP in identifying Outboard

Hello Everyone,

I am in need of some help in identifying Outboard I just picked up. It has no ID tag on the left clamp, it's missing. I have taken a few photos in hope that someone might be able to ID this motor by sight. I have taken a picture of a number "65600" that is cast into the engine case. Just from parts diagrams, the cover seems to be from 1984-1987.

Any help would be appreciated as I need to replace the water pump impeller. The guy I bought it from say's he didn't replace it and doesn't know if the owner before him had replaced it, so I say it's about time.

That is quite a jury-rigged gas tank made out of an old style Johnson-Evinrude VRO oil tank!

I would not be surprised that the motor is made up from parts of several different engines.

What gives you the impression it's a Frankenstein engine, ... the fuel tank setup?

The tiller arm was removed and converted to a remote deadman throttle. The handle was cut off for who knows what reason, but it's setup for a Wetback 10 hhydroplane.

look at the carb flange and see what numbers are on it.

The engine cover is for an 84-87. Are the impellers the same on throughout the years?

Look them up and see what all use the same kit.

Might want to get the #s Rodbolt ask for to see if he can help

I found the numbers on the carburetor flange. They are, ... 66471 7K

nope, still looks like a cobbled C25 that would not be legal in the states other than a sanctioned racing event.
