  • What year switch from carb to injection

What year did Yamaha switch from carberated to injection on 4 strokes? I thought 2004 were injected, but I may be wrong.

All carbureted motors did not go to EFI at the same time.

Big motors started first. Smaller motors followed over the years.

Some 2004 motors are EFI yet some are carbureted. Even today, only down to the F40 is EFI. Anything below this HP is carbureted.

Looking at the parts catalog it appears that in the 2004 model year, EFI motors were the F115 through F225.

      The F90's -
      2004 and earlier = Carbs
      2005 and later = EFI

I have had 2000 and 2001 F115s both fuel injected.

reason could be your motors were not some of the ones shipped to US,
but I have not looked to see when they changed in US myself

The F115 has been EFI since it was introduced here in the US in the 2000 model year.
