Piece of impeller in cooling system

Got an 89 200 that was not pumping water out telltale sporadically. Replaced pump but a 3/16 piece was missing from impeller. Put it back together and it still does it. I think that piece is floating around in the cooling system.

Any ideas on how to get it out? I was thinking of taking lower unit off again and blowing air thru telltale and/or thermostat housings.

As large as that piece is, you may try removing the lower unit, the thermostats, and pumping water upward trying to pump that piece out the Thermostat hole(s).

You can also backtrack (and possibly luck out) from the pisser and work backwards, likely to the block.
