Petrol Oil Mix?

Hi, I've an elderly 3.5A outboard, and the guy i brought it off told me to use 50:1, but in a manual i just obtained it says 100:1 (although the serial number of the engine is about 2000 units earlier than that the manual covers).

So which should i use? the motor runs OK, but stalls if i put the choke in fully or is that another problem :-( i've adjusted the idle screw, adjusted the plug gap etc, as it would only run if the choke was fully out

Hi Tim.

I have the same model its the 3.5 AC we run ours on 100.1 there shpould be a sticker on the motor saying 100.1 as for only running with the choke you have a dirt carb or fuel filter clean both and if that fails get a carb service kit we did our a few weeks ago runs like anew motor now.
