  • 2004 yamaha 115 4 stroke voltage regulator

Has anyone other than me had problems with 115 4 stroke voltage regulator?
Replace the regulator - it was over charging up to 17 V.
Now I have a miss firing problem. engine miss fires at 4000 -4200 rpm? Originally thought it was fuel related, but all fuel systems check out.
    Any suggestions?

voltage regulator has nothing to do with ign producing or con*****ing.
the system uses a 12V TCI ign system, and 12V injectors.
you may have a fuel pressure issue or an injector clogging.
temp gun the ISC, if its over about 200*F its most likely over heating the ECU.

Thanks for the quick reply, The voltage regulator was bad and has been replaced. Now I am having the studding problems at 4200 rpm. My thinking was the regulator hurt the electrics somehow. maybe even the ecu.
We have replaced all the filters, new fuel lines from the tank to injectors, new injectors, cleaned the svt tank and filter, and good fuel pressure at the rail.
      Any other ideas?
