  • pee hole question

I may be getting ahead of myself here but I wanted to ask the question...
The first time I started my 150 SX up this year the pee hole was not working. The alarm went off so I figured it needed rebuilt.
I have the lower unit apart and I'm ready to replace the impeller. When I took the pump apart it looked to be OK? No fins broke or damaged. The water pump has not been worked on for at least 6 years. I'm just getting ready to put it back together, is there anything else I should be looking at before I close it up?

Thanks in advance for any ideas...

I'd say at 6 years you got your nickle's worth out of that water pump....check/clean/replace as needed the pressure control valve and the thermostat so you should be good to go...

Thanks for the info. The new impeller worked!! Should I change the thermostat out to be safe? If so where is it located and how hard to replace it?
      Thanks again!!
