  • yamaha z150txrb fuel starvation

I have an yamaha z150txrb 2 cycle outboard,.
It runs well for about 300 yards then starts missing and and then stops. I can restart and run it but it does not run smooth and will die again.
I eventually get back to shore but slowly and after numerous engine stalls.
I took the long external fuel filter off and it was only half full.
The primer bulb never feels quite firm but it does bring some fuel into external filter.
    1. Should that external fuel filter be full?
    2. Should the primer bulb finally feel like it is firmer after squeezing a while?
    3. Anything else I should check?

Thanks in advance for your time

      Think I found it

I think I found the problem. I was not getting any fuel when I pumped the primer bulb. So hooked up primer before the external oil/water separator filter.
      I got gas then.
So I took oil/water filter off and where the filter screws into the base was slightly corroded, it appears just enough to draw air into the filter.
Anyway, I ordered a new oil/water filter assembly and it will be in Thursday.
I will post as soon as I install and try and let ya'll know if that fixes it.
