  • 9.9 dies under load

Any help would be appreciated took my 1997 9.9 two stroke out it run great one day the next would start and run until it got under a load then just fall on its face and die. If you pumped the fuel bulb constantly it would run a little longer and idles fine. I just replace fuel pump last year. Any thoughts?

Picked up a small piece of debris from the float bowl or somewhere. It doesn't take too big of a piece of debris to plug up an orifice on any of the carb components. Clean the carb well making sure to blow out all of the tiny passages with air.

if pumping primer helps it sounds like pump may have a problem again or it is sucking air
