  • Yamaha f225 with no serial sticker

    Hi all,
I have stupidly brought a f225 4 stroke which I was told was a 2008 model with 94hrs. When it arrived the serial no. Sticker is missing. Apron further inspection there is no white command link plug with blue and white wires under the cowling.

My questions are where is the small serial sticker located on these engines?

Without this plug is this engine pre 2006?

    Thanks
    Naish

I think 05 was the first model with command link.
04 was the first model with a vapor recovery canister.

I dont know of any other markings on the block to indicate seriel or production year.

take it by a dealer, have the ECU numbers pulled and call yamaha.

Not familiar with the vapor recovery canister. Where would I find this?

Was command link plug optional or fitted to all outboards?

      Thanks for your help

the command link plug was part of the harness on all US market models.

the vapor recovery canister is a black plastic box about 3"sqaure by about 4" long and was typically mounted on the lower stbd side cam cover.

cannot remember the year run they used the vapor recovery lock out valve.

I was told there is a round sticker locate on the engine somewhere. I have found it on 150 and 200 4 strokes but cannot find it on 225.
