  • '98 70hp ETLF leaks oil in carbs when tilted

    Hi Guys,
My '98 - 70hp ETLF, oil injected 2-stroke, leaks oil into the carbs when the motor is tilted up. Makes it hard to start, fouls the plugs.
Once it's been running for a bit, no problems.
    Anybody seen this before?
    Thanks,
    Marco

only when 1 or more of the oil line check valves leak.
each oil line has a check valve.
the kien pump had the valves in the pump, the mikuni pumps used inline valves.
cant remeber when the 3cyl went to mikuni pumps.

OK, So I took off the oil tank and there are 3 little silver valves, 1 on each oil line coming off the pump. Should I replace them all or can they be tested, cleaned? If they're not too expensive just replace 'em?
      Thanks for the help.

          Oil leak Fixed

          Thanks Rodbolt,
I removed the check valves and sprayed some solvent in 'em, blew them out with the air compressor, and no more oil in the carbs.
          This forum rocks!
