  • 2001 F115 txrz drive shaft leak

I have oil leaking from the lower unit drain hole. I dropped the lower unit and the drive shaft has oil covering all the way up to the drive gear at the top of the drive shaft? I removed the water pump and all inside has oil. There is no evidence of water in the lower gear case oil. @ 3" below the top of the drive shaft below the gear teeth there is a wear groove, apparently where the seal rides on the shaft. I have read about a service bulletin pertaining to this, but cannot find it anywhere. Apparently, there is a fix with a sleeve. Does the seal need to be replaced or just install the sleeve? How do I get to the seal to replace it? Can it be done with the mid section removed or does the power head have to come off?

If it's engine oil leaking, Will need to pull powerhead. The repair sleeve was for F150-F250 crankshaft.
