  • F250 Long Shaft

What parts will be required to convert a 30" shaft to a 25"?

  • #2
a 25" drive shaft, possibly a new mid section.
    way more than its worth.

      What about the shift shaft?
That may need to be replaced also if it is too long

i reckon you would be better off selling this 30' motor and buying a 25' one as the work involved and scarcity of parts available will give you head ache ,unless you want to use a jacking plate in which case it will put you behind few thousand quid but will fix your problem ,but then it depends on which boat you putting this motor as if it is under 6m then you will have problems again
        cheers

goes back to how Yamaha extended it to 30" to start with.
          some used a 5" case extension,longer midsection shift shaft and a 30" drive shaft to make a 25" motor into a 30".

some used all 30" parts including a one piece midsection that simply cannot be shortened.

anyway you go about it shortening it will most likly be cost prohibitive.

Thank You all. From your advice I will have to go with with a Jack Plate.
