  • Test of oil pressure switch

    I bought a used yamaha 2006 F90TLR.

I want to verify that the sensors and audible alarms work for both the oil and temp.

    Any suggestions?

Yamaha Service manual for that motor is the only thought I have, should give where and what to hook up to test everything, and the specs

Would need special test harness's on that engine to test, best to take to a dealer to have tested.
Can test buzzer by pulling landyard cord and crank engine over, buzzer should sound.

        go to radio shack.
buy a pkg of 220 ohm resistors.
unplug the temp sensor, plug in the resistor.
start the engine, alarm should sound in less than 90 seconds.
there is a built in delay.

to test oil switch, short the pink to ground alarm may delay if engine speed is lower than 2000 RPM and engine temp is less than 113*F.
simply increase the RPM above about 2000 and it will work.
