  • Bugs in motor

    I live at lake fork. I went to use my 2005 skeeter wit a 200 hpdi.. Well it did not run well and keep cutting out. Took it to service marine in emory and they found the problem out.. It appears that bug we have down hear called a dirt dober had built nest of hard mud in my motor, any one have a idea on how to keep them out thanks guys at sevice didnt know either it cost 500.00 to get it fixed.

    other than purchasing and using an engine cover, nope.
    dang dubbers get everywhere.

      what did they nest in that caused $500 of work?
      hope you did not suck a bunch of the dirt down into the motor from their nests if it was in the intake

        About the only place they could get inside is through the air inlet on the top/rear of upper cowling...I slip a large garbage bag down over the motor cowling during lay-ups to protect from UV, rain, bugs, etc...or you could stuff some rags in that air intake...just remember to remove them to start motor!
