• water in lower unit oil

Last season I had both my lower unit seals replaced on my 225 ox66's. My lower unit oil was just drained and the starboard motor had some water in it again, port was fine. Can it anything more than the seals again this time?

Pete,
Sure can - pull the prop off that outboard and check to see if any fishing line (mono) has gotten wrapped around the prop shaft. The line can dig under the seal and cause a leak. If you find line there, remove it gently. The seal should re-seal itself in most cases.
Also, check to see that the fill and drain plugs both have washers - I believe they should.
Good luck ,

theres a seal under the water pump plate and possibly one at the shift rod, that should be replaced if youre having water issues, ive never replaced one but look on this site, parts, for your year and size as its much cheaper to replace an extra seal than a rebuild.i think hamfist has talked about this issue before, you can search back thru the posts.
