  • idle adjustment on 2006 70hp 2 stroke

    Hi all

I have recently purchased a second hand 70hp 2 stroke 2006 yama outboard.
I have installed the engine and all cables and gauges and throttle/shift cables
Everything works, engine starts however the idle revs are at like 14000rpm.

I know this will have something to do with how I have connected the shift/throttle cables

is there a process or rule i should have followed to connect these... is there a way I can now go and adjust the idle or do i need to 'start over'

what is the recommended idle rpm?? (i have heard around 750 but would be awesome if someone can please confirm)??

    thanks
    joe

Take the throttle loose from engine and make sure carb throttle plates are fully closed on engine and adjust cable to fit.
