  • Power Tilt issue

    Hi Folks

My power tilt has failed. I removed the stator and found that the magnets inside that should be glued to the case of the stator have come unglued.

I can't easily replace the stator assembly as I am out of country. Any ideas as to what kind of adhesive would hold the two magnets in place inside the stator permanently?

Also, according to the manual there's a circuit breaker inside the motor base someplace. Does it reset automatically if the power tilt motor overheats or does it "blow" like a fuse, rendering the motor base permanently defective?

If anyone has successfully re-glued the stator magnets back into the stator please let me know what you used for glue.

the thermal breaker is self restting and can be tested.
you can use any good epoxy,JB weld, marine tex, to reglue the magnets.
mark the ould location, carefully clean all surfaces.
use popsicle sticks or dowl rod to get the correct spacing and plastic spring loaded clamps to hold them in place while the epoxy cures.
