1996 115 hp steering cable

How do I replace steering cable and what to watch out for ie. (Problems) and where do I find part #? Thanks

Disconnect cable from bracket and slide out of tilt tube, some boats have to remove outboard to have enough room to get cable out. Disconnecting from helm depends on brand and style steering system it is. Look for a part number and manufature name on cable once get out. Can get new one at your local marine dealer.
